I have my own business now but I'm frustrated by the current use of stupid computer algorithms to find employees. I prefer the old ways...references and word of mouth. Filling out those apps takes workers 45 minutes or more. And the questions don't really prove anything. I want to know if the potential worker is honest and reliable. Don't want freaking liars and backstabbers. Or boot lickers.

I totally agree. Approximately two years ago I was looking for work in a different field and was very frustrated over the application process. I felt the questions and process did not allow for the recruiter to truly get an understanding of who I am and what I can do.

I prefer face to face communication and interviews.

This is why it is so critical to understanding your company culture and who will thrive best in that environment. If you just look at skills and experience, you are missing the most important part of the equation.
