How Do You Tell Your Customers About New Offerings, Products, or Services?

If you have email addresses of the customers who've purchased before or were on the fence could get a sneak peek. As for SaaS (software sold as service) products, targeted advertising on Facebook might be your best option. I would recommend getting a pixel from Facebook to follow people around online until they buy. I'm in favor of producing YouTube videos and optimizing them for seo. Make a social media blitz utilizing Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, Digg, Pinterest, Google+, as well as what was mentioned already.

You might want to utilize your website and make landing pages to introduce a snippet to the public and drive interest that way. Also, offering affiliate partners a piece of the action might create leverage and momentum in the launch of the new product.

We email them. If it is specific to a few, we email them through our CRM. If it is a bit more general, then through our newsletter auto responder. We also send out press releases and post it on our web properties and social media.

Sounds like I need to get my email list whipped into shape. Thanks for the suggestions.

If you have built a relationship with them, I will call or use regular mail to send a HAND WRITTEN NOTE telling them about the new service(s). Fortunately my personal customers are less than 20, including myself!

Promote on all your social media platforms, including Alignable with special discount for limited time. Scarcity creates urgency.

I assume you are employing your website and social media. Still, there are a couple highly cost-effective techniques to communicate new offerings:

  • Point-of-Sale displays can be very effective if used to deliver a value message. Digital printing makes it possible for the smallest business to display giant posters, banners, window scrims and even vehicle wraps. These full-color graphics enliven shop windows and interiors, offices and conference rooms . . . anywhere prospects may congregate.
  • If your business is geocentric (depends on a specific geographic locality), the USPS Every Door Direct Mail program can give a great boost to your sales promotion program. The cost to mail dramatic, full-color postcards under this program is far less than with conventional direct mail.
  • Both techniques require quality professional preparation to maximize their effect. Both give you just seconds to capture your prospects' attention with a compelling offer.

New Products or Services offer opportunities to e-mail my list to announce them! If you don't have a e-mail, get started today. My favorite e-mail collecting client and autoresponder is aweber.com, but there are many others. Developing a list is criticcal!
