The emphasis on drugs and surgery to fix chronic health issues that should be addressed with (proper) nutrition and lifestyle. I emphasize "proper" because many MDs have no idea what proper nutrition is. Also, the food industry putting all kinds of toxic stuff into our food (e.g. canola oil, etc.) is another source of frustration.

What is my biggest frustration regarding healthcare?  From a personal point of view my biggest frustration is in the cost of healthcare. The United States has the highest healthcare costs in the world, but we are not necessarily getting the best care for those huge bills. I have other problems with the system too; specifically the cost of medications and the fact that the government will not step in to resolve the price gouging. For instance, they will not allow Medicare to negotiate with the drug companies to get reasonable prices for seniors. They even make it illegal for drug companies to cut seniors a break.  You often see, on TV commercials, something like "Find out how you can get your medication for $5 per month". They cannot legally offer that to Medicare patients, so the 80 year old guy, trying to live on $2000 a month has to pay $300 for his medication. It's disgraceful how politicians treat this issue. It's all lobbyist dollars.

What is my biggest frustration professionally, regarding healthcare?   We are Networking Delaware, an I.T. company, and part of our business involves assessing and correcting HIPAA compliance issues for healthcare providers.  Many times, the doctors and practice managers just don't "see" the issues involved and their potential seriousness. They don't want  to spend the money required to reach complete compliance. I could go on but don't want to be too specific.

Ha!  Where do you want me to start?  Ridiculously declining insurance reimbursements with increasing documentation demands makes it very difficult for any physician to be profitable right now.  That's number 1

Medicare and all there stupid regulations

Competitor providers that attempt to make profits through providing lower value in the form of provider, volume, or time...then use their profit margin to outspend us in terms of marketing and incentivizing referral sources.

Insurance. Single payer VS Profit model? The insurance company's model is to maximize profit rather than to provide service. In my view, insurance should be a public good like a water district.

Our biggest frustration is trying to find people who want to work and care about their job. Another big problem is getting them to pass the drug test.

My biggest frustration is laws are being made by politicians that affect patient care without taking into account how these laws will affect the patients and the workforce.
