There are a couple of effective ways I show people to get reviews for their business.
One is to ask after closing the sale, either by email or in person.
The other is to put a link in an email to the prospective review provider such as Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.
I also give them an outline of the review such as;
If you’re not sure what you’d like to write in your review, here are some points we’d love to hear about from you…
What item or service did you purchase?
The main reason(s) for your purchase
The full name of the person you dealt with and the business name
What you like most about it
Would you recommend this to their friends and family?
In the case of say, a fence company, what you'll likely get is something like this;
"We purchased a 4ft decorative aluminum fence for our backyard because we needed a place for our dogs to play outside. Tom Smith, of Smith Fence Company, talked to us about several options and was very helpful. What we like most about our new fence is the fact that our place looks very nice we don't have to worry about the dogs getting loose, highly recommended."
Not only does this frame a great review, but if you look closely, you’ll see that some of the main keywords that any fence company would be going after are in the review.
Does that even matter, you ask? Consider this, Google, as well as other reviews, can be bought, yes it happens because people want to shortcut the system. But, you can usually spot them easily after a while as they go something like…
“Great product and customer service was great too, highly recommended”
You don’t have to know anything about a business to leave that kind of review, and the Google algorithm knows this so these get less weight than the example above where the customer is talking about things that Google can directly relate to the website and the GMB listing.
Hope this is helpful and good luck getting those keyword-rich reviews!
We currently just started an online review process through a 3rd party company to get a bit more honest feedback about how we're doing. We've lived off of word of mouth referrals, so we've always had a great reputation, but due to how digital the world is now, we wanted to get a chance to learn more and try to grow.
I ask them if they’d be willing to give me a review - then I send them a short questionnaire / some suggestions of what I’d like to know about their experience of working with me:
1- what was the problem you were trying to solve by working with an architect?
2- how was the work process?
3- what surprised you most about the process?
4- knowing what you know know, would you do it all over again? (On another project of course)
5- what’s the most important thing you learned about yourself during this experience!
We have a "Preparing to Close" meeting after their home has made it past inspection to Pending. It helps them understand the next steps, with financing, timelines,signing all the way to close, so they are prepared and on the same page regarding the timing of loan docs, appraisal, funding etc. It really helps them understand the next 30 days until close. We have information regarding moving companies, utilities, tips on moving with pets, etc. to help them through this process. Once they are comfortable with everything, we ask them if they are happy with our service we'd love to hear from them and show them how to submit a "Yelp" review and then I send them links to review me on social media, Zillow, my business page etc. Even if they aren't satisfied we still want their feedback so we can improve if we've fallen short of their expectations.
All of my work is done with clients online. After I've worked with them for a few months, I simply ask if they would be willing to write a review for my website and also go to Facebook and leave a review. I leave it up to them to say what they want but if they aren't sure what I'm looking for I've given them a short questionnaire to fill out to get them started.

Ask (ok I'm done) LOL but seriously folks - all you have to do is ASK. I like to use Google My Business and you can add a plug in to your Wordpress site so it shows up there too. Ask them to tape a quick video, pull out your phone and video them - doesn't have to be fancy. People like it when you "keep it real" and authentic. Create a YouTube Channel, upload it to your channel and add it to your website.
First off, we provide our clients the very best possible real estate experience. After the closing, we reach out to them by email with a link to our Zillow review site, where they can easily provide us a 5-Star review. Since emails get overlooked many times, we follow up by text or phone to let them know how important reviews are to our business and they felt they had a great experience, we'd appreciate them taking a minute to submit a review.
CRYE-LEIKE, Realtors makes it easy for us to get Testimonial Reviews from Clients we have assisted with the Selling/Purchasing of their Home. We have a great system in place, that we simply send to our Clients for a review, through our Intranet/Tech System. They are able to rate our Service and add any additional comments they choose. Once they completed it, we are able to share on many sites, if we choose.

I am currently looking for someone to build me an affordable website. Any suggestions?

6- would you recommend Weppner Architect?
Fingers-crossed, they’d have nice things to say!
And then I’d thank them for their candor!
I appreciate reviews and suggestions expressed to improve products/services if any.
It carries a lot of traffic and positivity to the business.
As a person, I believe in excellent Client services and Customer Services for quality assured products at competitive prices.
Mouth publicity and repeated clients are one of the best reviews my heart sets on.
