What do you look for in a coffee business?
I'm working on some customer discovery & while you're all incredible business owners, we also have a potential of having that consumer-business owner relationship. I'm interested to know, what do you look for in a coffee business? Do you think people would take advantage of an eco-friendly coffee bean service? Would you? Feel free to answer here or if you know any people on the fence of veganism, please send them over to our website www.coffeebeanutopia.com I'm looking forward to hearing what you all have to say :) Please be raw, honest, and authentic! The future of this business depends on you!

Well, I love coffee. I dislike tree huggers and go green types because from what I read and see the thoughts are good but the execution is hurting a lot of people. At his point Ocasio's go green would cost 93 TRILLION dollars and put a lot of people out of work and bankrupt America. That may not be you but you do put yourself in that category and that was my first thought when looking at your website.
With that being said I think you would put off and lose many customers just by promoting this new go green thing instead of promoting the taste and freshness of your coffee. I buy coffee, not some idealist idea of what the world should be and how I can help it get there. I don't have a problem with organic, saving energy etc but not when I'''m buying coffee.... Good luck.
It's all about fresh for me. Fresh beans...fresh add ins. I go for recycling and compostable wherever possible. That said..I hate that it costs more for most eco friendly products. It sort of makes choices for us that we dont actually love. (For instance, anything "organic ") for sure we need to love and care for our world!
There is definitely a market for this type of thing. It will go over better in large metropolitan areas
Hi Jay,
I have been in business for ten years, and I must say, my clientele is changing with young people who, more and more are interested about the environment and trends like yours. I don’t know what it means as far as jumps in pricing, I would say that, we really have to educate our customers to think that way! The downside to this, in my case, is that I am in close proximity to big coffee chains and I have to compete with them!

We sell coffee in our shop Nonna Elena (Italian specialty foods). It is a custom blend and roast; we worked with a local roaster who creates small batches and private labels it. They don't sell this particular coffee to anyone else. I like the idea of eco friendly delivery system etc, but if it raises the wholesale cost, it would be a problem for us. Honestly, i care much more about our brand exclusivity, and the quality of the coffee.
What I look for in a coffee business. 1. Product, it must be Great. It does not need to be spectacular but it needs to be better than typical.
2. Staff with some level of decent customer service. A step above just a hello is good.
3. It’s a plus if the place offered occasional live music
Hi guys, I gave my response on your site as it was rather lengthy and I'm somewhat unclear what your idea is that you're wanting to do. It doesn't sound like you're wanting to open a coffee shop. Good luck.
