How do you reward clients that send you referrals?

I generally do 1 or 2 of the following:
Always, buy a new door mat "Welcome Home" etc.
1. Go out to dinner and celebrate the closing
OR
2. Buy gift card to a restaurant or favorite store. Whatever they need or would like.
spend about $150-200.
