There was a layoff at my last corporate job that I was going to be involved in. Thankfully I had a good relationship with my boss and he gave me a few weeks heads up that it was coming. In that timeframe I started looking for similar jobs and I found that I would have to go further into the city just to stay at the level at which I was at the time. I had already been performing of my business on a part-time basis in the evenings and weekends so I figured it was a good time to try it full-time. It all worked out.

Facebook is a good way to target a specific demographic as most people has some type of social media presence. They also let you customize your customer preferences. Having a website that gets enough traffic to be listed high in Google searches is very tough especially given how often they change their search algorithms. I really don’t worry so much with search engine optimization on my own website but I use my Angie’s List website which gets a lot more traffic to help me with my web presence.
