While art certainly serves us, do we really need it, or do we simply desire it?

I definitely think are is needed. Art is interpretation, no one views art the same. So in it self interpretation is an art. Visual arts inspire, music can do many things. So unless someone would want a world without music, or dance, or any other art form yes its necessary.
