No, I always feel that person/group is trying to sell me something. I know several companies that will give you a free assessment when you call and ask them for information... that way, I take the first step and it is a business I am already interested in. Making contact and starting a relationship is the first thing. After people know you, then they are more willing to do business with you. (more) Making contact and starting a relationship is the first thing. After people know you, then they are more willing to do business with you.

I like face to face meetings and then you get the follow-up word of mouth... this is hard to track though. Print/radio/tv have not worked well in the past for us, plus can be very expensive.  (more) I like face to face meetings and then you get the follow-up word of mouth... this is hard to track though. Canvas is more popular in offices.  Paper is more popular with younger customers or businesses that want a cheaper price point; easier to hang, easier to replace if damaged. The At&T/DirectTV bundle is fairly expensive for the average student or working-class family.  People in the suburbs can usually afford it if the bundle ties in a cell phone family plan, but then at least one family member is dissatisfied with either the total cost or lack of a feature they enjoy. My assistant worked for DirectTV customer service before the merger with At&T and she heard these complaints most often: --The TV package doesn't have the channel I want --The package I want is out of my price range --Why wasn't I fully informed of the price increase in the second year of service?  That lost A LOT of customers --Streaming on the Internet is cheaper for what I want If you set up a table at a job fair, community event, or a local place with foot traffic, take note of the people who are wary of your pitch.  Create a sheet for them to write down their name and an email address so you can send them more info.  The more personalized the pitch, the better the chance of a sale.  This has worked for us when scheduling group events.

If you see a video ad and your employees say "We can do better than that!", try giving the person or business a call.

We're active with social media boosts coupled with handouts at our reception desk.  Most advertising is digital now.  The handout flyers are something a parent can fold and tuck in their pocket or bag.
