Do you prefer digital photographs or prints?

I'm a BIG fan of prints because too often digital images are shared once on social media, then go to die on a hard drive somewhere - never again to see the light of day.
With a printed image that's hanging on the wall, you are telling your family/loved ones that they are special, they are important, and they are worth remembering.

I grew up with prints and even though I have not printed every digital photo I have taken, I have several prints of each of my kids from every year, twice a year.  I have them as a collage in my office and in some other areas of my home. It gives me such joy to see them and reflect on the changes of my kids as they grow up.  

As a professional photographer, I consider myself to be a Print Artist.  I take pictures with the end goal of an artistic print at the end. 

Digital media is great, but it changes quickly and when the power goes out, so do your photos. Prints can be viewed any time and are timeless.  

I think it’s important to have both. The portraits I love the most are the ones out on display or on my walls . I love looking back at scrapbooks of portraits and my children do too! People have a lot of digital images and then do nothing with them... which is not why we have portraits taken. They are to be enjoyed and loved. 

Oh i like prints! Love the new thing they are doing with printing photos onto glass! I hate just digital as they are stuffed in folders deep in my laptop so who ever gets to view them? No one! Also when motherboard in the stupid computer goes up so does all the pics and the memories right along with them! Have experienced this! Lost a tons of the "before" real est pics on a property we rehabbed and now no one believes us when we describe the condition property was in prior to our work all summer. Extremely depressing!

I like both. I have prints on my entertainment center and I have albums of older pictures. But it's easier to carry around digital photos in my phone to show Friends pictures of my children and grandchildren which I like to show off. It's also easier to show a client a concept on a phone or tablet using digital. I hope that helps.

I personally prefer prints.  I have them all over my own home.  I also prefer paper cards.

What a question.  I love them both, but my true love, which might surprise you, is digital images.  I am working on adding "light boxes" for sale on my website.  I have always loved the feel and look of digital positives, which is some way is a print, yet if feels more like the digital look when in lightbox form.  The beauty of selling lightbox with positive transparencies, is that these transparencies can be changed out at any time, and at a much lower price than paying for a print.  

Yet with that said, there is nothing like a great print!!!! 

35mm film, and prints made from it, are higher resolution than most consumer digital formats. Many people don't care about resolution and that's fine. But for me, it's nicer to have a photo print in my hand, or in a frame on a shelf or wall, than a digital photo in a digi-album. I also like actual books better than digital readers. Same principle.

Shouldn't admit this because did some purging from drawers in our office and found more than one "new" roll of B/W film - 400ASA. I also have a Pentax  that this film would work in but can't remember when I used it last a for color slides. This is a way of telling the obvious that I prefer the digital options.   

People today do not value digitals. The perceived value of a digital photo to a consumer is $0.00. I encourage all my clients to print. If they insist on digital photos only the pricing for a single digital is high than a printed and matted 8 x 10. I provide web-sized digitals for free with every print ordered. Hope this helps!
