If you could publish your first piece, what would be the subject?

Since I'm a fiction writer, it would be a short story.  My first published short story was "The Patriot," and it was important to me because the main character, who was timid, learned that he had to stand up to tyranny even if it meant risking his life. Courage in the face of oppression has remained an important theme to me for sixty years.  Write what you want and write about what is important to you, whether you've experienced it or not.

My Subject would be Tragedy of Suicide, Suicide Prevention,  and the Effects it causes, on Entire Families, Friends, and Relationships. 
The Purpose would be is to draw the attention, and interest of the reader/readers. A Non-Fictional Book by the Survivor and Author could positively make a difference, in others lives. The everlasting effects of such a death could be prevented, after reading the True Story. This gives the reader insight, on the after effects, when a family member takes their life. This causes a never ending impact with tremendous effects to family survivors, close friends and relationships. 
    

My first educational handbook would be titled Erasing Failure (in our schools).  \My purpose? To light a fire in the hearts and minds of teachers everywhere. The ultimate goal --all students experience success throughout their educational experience.  The content would be loaded with creative ideas for teachers to implement in order to encourage and inspire students to actively participate in the learning process.  The classroom would become a positive educational environment which ultimately breeds a favorable outcome.

I created a character that is brave, consciousness and always on a mission. It is my goal to write various adventures involving this character who wants to pursue positive experiences. My drawings of this character in different situations will illustrate real life stories with a search for a positive outcome. Although the character is fictional, there is an ability to affect positive change in real life adversities. 

I write and publish suspense thrillers. My goal is to put a smile on my readers face. My protagonist is Dr. Jules Spenser who reports only to God and Old Glory, and she has a cast of interesting characters that keep my readers guessing. A brilliant author once said, "We don't need lists of rights and wrongs, tables of do's and don'ts: we need books, time, and silence. Thou shalt not is soon forgotten, but once upon a time lasts forever."

Hi Sandra, Great question.  I am actually published... an Amazon #1 best selling author.  I wrote on a subject near and dear to my heart astral travel.  I do have two other books in the works that will be getting published within the next 2 years regarding grief and emotional healing.  I think it is important for new authors to write about what they know and what moves them.

The older I get the more I realize the significance of legacy; not for egotistical reasons, but quite the opposite. I would want to leave behind some written work that helps those who are indifferent, hopeless, angry, or desperate and inspires them to make the most of their lives. Quite simply, it is not just for them, but it will also impact those they cross paths with as well. Their hand and their words will touch others, and that will hopefully lead to a cascading effect. In the process I impacted a life that will in-turn, impact other lives, then more and more. That is my contribution to leaving the world in a better place then when I found it.

If I were to complete a finished full comic book series it would be on the ways that people blind themselves to their own power to enact change. I create fantasy worlds far from the reality of our own but I love dealing with the complexities of how different types of people interact and have relationships. Stories are how we learn to relate to the world and to relate to each other. 

Thank you for your interest! I'm currently revising a manuscript (fiction) that has taken me nearly 10 years to write. Despite months-long personal setbacks every couple of years, I can't ignore the story and am determined to finish. It's a social justice type of story in which the classic "vulnerable and innocent" character is actually using society's perception of her to manipulate others and ultimately seek revenge on the protagonist. The next steps: beta readers, agent (if I can find one), and publication. 

I guess I would say whatever struck me as interesting or worthwhile. Sometimes I feel compelled, but not always. I painted a series of oil paintings I called "The Invisible Series" to bring homeless people into the public consciousness. More recently I wrote and illustrated children's stories to entertain my daughters while teaching them valuable lessons about life. Presently I am writing fiction novels to spur discourse on the perception of right and wrong using logic and faith; sometimes in tandem, sometimes at odds. Whatever it is, it has to mean something to me. That's what drives me to publish anything.
