What feedback do you have about Yodle? Are they an effective marketing solution?
Patrick O'Hara from Tax Alternative Group, LLC shares some thoughts:
I also had very little luck with Yodle, but spent quite a bit of money. I felt they were very high pressure, and their fees represented how much money they believed they could get from you. Every time I called to complain, they reduced the rate. I think the need for aggressive SEO really depends on the type of business you have. Mine is a specialty business and much of it comes through referral and not random google searches. I just needed to make sure potential clients could find me on the net.

I am not a fan of Yodle and it has been a while since using them.. However, I would suggest someone that can do a Linked-In and Facebook page and keep them current and keep contacts informed... I have gotten a lot of good clients from both of these... Of course the Chamber of Commerce also has an online product that I love a lot...
No leads
Several years ago we were approached by Yodle on a couple of occassions. I noticed the 2nd time, their pricing had dropped substantially. In any case, we considered their services. Ultimately decided against using Yodle's services for two reasons. The ROI-cost/benefit seemed difficult to justify, even with their reduced pricing. Second, virtually all of our new clients come by word of mouth from other clients, and our referral networking partners, Ex. BNI, local chamber of commerce, etc. One additional comment/thought--We have a large number of business clients. To my knowledge none of them use Yodle. Most if not all of our business clients have strong to very strong sales/revenues---as we do.
I don't use them, can't help.
Never heard of them. You want to promote your business? Give speeches, join the Chamber or Rotary but only if you are going to be active
I had no luck with Yodle!
I used Yodle in 2014. The company got in touch with me about my services. I prepare income taxes and at the time I had just discharged over 20 clients, which I needed to replace immediately. This was my first time becoming interested in a company that could get me leads. I was told I would receive 10-15 leads a month, have a website created, a dashboard, email marketing, and a 800 number. I thought it all sounded great as this being my first time it sounded like a winner. However, after setup when I looked at their work to the website I was very disappointed and immediately contacted them. I stressed the issue that the address they used on the website was my home address and not my physical address for my business. I was informed that they HAD to use my mailing address on the website site. Of course, I let them know that did not make sense when the business has its own physical location. I over stressed the impact this would have on my family's safety in which they further informed me they had to use my mailing address which is my home address. They eventually by the end of the conversation told me they would change it. After four months in I went to go look at the dashboard to find out I only had 3 leads, one, were I called to test the 800 number, second, were Yodle called the 800 number, and third, were one potential customer called the 800 number. At this time, I saw no ROI, so I called them back to address the issue and the fact that the address had not been changed. They told me there was nothing they could do. I asked for a refund, to be informed that I could not get a refund but a discount on the last two months to add one more month to the service. I asked why I would do that when there is obviously not ROI after 4 months. I was also informed that per the contact, which I did not receive until after Yodle had received my contact funds for the service that I had 24 hours from the time I consented to the service, I could cancel, after 24 hours the contact/service could not be terminated. I accepted this as my fault for not reading it after receiving it, however, 24 hours was not enough time for someone to decide whether the service was or is best for their company. Yes, I threw a fit and they refunded my las two months which has not been used. I of course was still disappointed due to my home address being posted on this website they built. It was clear they did not care. So, no, I would never recommend to company to any business. I did read the reviews on the company before deciding. Reviews were not bad. I also went to the BBB to the website and it looked fine. However, my experience did not prove to be what I read in the reviews. God bless anyone who using their service. I paid them $1500 in advance for the service, eventually getting $199 refunded.
Sorry I never heard of them...I use Thumbtack 2 get new clients & it was been very productive...Also, word of mouth helps as this week alone I have had six (6) new clients who were highly recommended to use me. So, woo hoo
I'm not familiar with Yodle.
no experience with this. Referrals are the best tool for me, personal meet and greets with potential clients, etc. Advertising does not really work
