What's the Best Way to Attract New Bookkeeping/accounting Clients?

I am a new bookkeeping firm (provide bookkeeping and other financial services) and am looking to expand my client list... Marketing is not my strong suit but I am willing to do whatever it takes to build customers. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

1st thing I would say is network.

Joint your local chamber and go to the meetings regularly.

If you are not a QuickBooks ProAdvisor or Xero rep I would highly recommend you start the process of getting certified with them.

If you already are then put those certificates on your website.

Also, go look up Profit First Professionals. They are a organization that helps small bookkeeping and CPA firms build and market their business. They have some free podcasts I highly recommend them.

Above all understand that networking and building a business takes time.

If you have a website try Google AdWords. Otherwise I give out 5 business cards a day to complete strangers after a quick elevator presentation. Short and succinct. I get a lot of clients by just striking up conversations and what I do always comes up. Try one or two affordable conferences where you can set up a boot. And referrals. We have gotten all of our customers through word of mouth and networking. Happy clients refer their friends and customers, plus they leave positive online reviews. We've gotten some new clients because we are the only firm with more than one positive online review. We are also a part of several small business networking groups.

Business Network International. Worlds largest word of month referral and marketing company. Over 220,000 Mw members world wide! Inbox me for details

You should try networking with accounting firms. Reach out to those accountants and make them aware you are looking to add clients. Joining your local chamber of commerce or BNI group would give you some exposure as well. Good luck.

I do slot of advertising on Facebook group and it's free plus word if mouth is always great

Lots of advertising and social networking. Find out what your target clients are interested in and talk about these needs. It takes a substantial investment in time, money, and energy too.

I would say make sure every person you know could be a source of referrals. Expanding in what you specialize in for instance construction, real estate. Have one main dish of how you market and be a mastery of it. Look at what problem you solve and look for business owners that need that solved. Give high value and ask for reviews on yelp. The accounting industry is very large. Enjoy serving others.

I feel your pain. Growing a sustainable Client base can be challenging. Networking and referrals are great ways to grow your Client base but I personally think that it takes a little more than that to "attract" new Clients. First, critique the services that you currently provide to determine, "what makes your services different from your competition?" Not too many people leave their bank, cpa, or doctor until they have issues or concerns with them. So, stay persistent on calling on those prospects. Second, provide value added services and resources that set you apart that encourage them to at least try you out. For example: "How many bookkeepers are providing FREE KPI analysis based upon their Clients industry that's in narrative format that their Clients fully understand and can proactively start making immediate changes to better their business to increase cash flow?" Probably not many. Utilize and promote that FREE service to prospects that you call on that gets you in the door to start dialogue. I have a company in mind that I have used before that provides the financial software that can assist you with that. Give me a call to have a personal conversation xxx-xxx-xxxx mobile; xxx-xxx-xxxx office. Hope this information helps.

Set goals for cold calling. I would say purchase a new business list. Once you have enough satisfied clients, start asking for references. In this business, nothing beats a satisfied client.
