Hi James, as of the last 15  years, about 90% +  of my business comes from referrals. A few new customers called for prices through social media. When business flourished in the 80's radio and Yellow Pages worked great. My best ad was created from a wrong number. When I answered the phone with, "Ivan Fraser Custom Framing," the lady said, "Oh, I'm sorry I have the wrong number. I quickly replied with something like this,"No you don't if you want 40% off on your custom picture framing, guaranteed satisfaction, free parking and a chance to win a free painting." She laughed and we had a great chat. The ad was a booming success. Just an idea for you.

Thanks, Ivan. A little humor never hurts, and often helps.  Some ads really do the trick.  Sounds like your business is flourishing.  Yes, I remember Yellow Pages.  Do you know what happened to them?  Did the internet bring on their demise?
