Do you give clients gifts at Christmas?

Since my services are primarily related to the college application season as a college consultant, I do not send anything for the holidays. However, I started sending my clients an item, such as a hat or T shirt with their college logo, for the college they have decided to attend in May of their senior year as a way of saying "Congratulations!". 

Hadn't thought about it, but this would be a great idea.

We do NOT give gifts. We do send Christmas Cards and we give then a Safety Calendar each year. 

Yes, gift baskets, type(value) of gift depends on annual purchase.

There's an interesting idea. Of course it completely depends on your business and client base. Being a cottage industry myself I will offer special sales events as opposed to those individual gifts. However, for my annual repeat customers, I usually do something extra for them....whether it's an extra discount or an extra hand made one-of-a-kind ornament. That's how I show MY appreciation for their patronage.

Absolutely.  Nothing big, but a nice gesture of our appreciation.

Depends on the relationship and the policies of the company were they work. Many companies don't allow gifts to employees from vendors. It a good question to ask them. Maybe you can have dinner,go to a ballgame,a concert, a show instead? The whole idea of client gifts is to thank them for their business. It should be appropriate and not cause them trouble with superiors.

For most of my clients, the answer is YES. It's a small way to show my appreciation for their business. I have been sending fruitcakes from Collin Street Bakery in Corsicana, Texas for the past 15 years.
