About Us

I am all about helping small businesses grow by leveraging the opportunities online.
My passion is helping businesses understand the opportunities in the online marketplace so they can take advantage of those opportunities.

I offer a no-obligation digital marketing analysis to discover what a business is doing now and see if I can help. My mission is not to "sell" anything, but to create a partnership with a business to help them succeed.
I work with hundreds of businesses throughout NW Indiana doing just that!

I am able to show clients how many people they can get in front of when someone is searching for their product or service as well as develop social media campaigns that target their ideal customer.

The complexities of the online world can be overwhelming. I break it down into terms you can understand. I simply show opportunities and never pressure clients into buying anything. It’s all about how big of a piece of the pie you want and your business can handle!

My company partners with Google, Bing, Yahoo and Facebook among other companies in order to give our clients a one stop shop for all their business marketing needs.

The big players make it look easy for small businesses to do it themselves, but without advance knowledge, they end up spending more money with less effectiveness in the long run. Even before the pandemic hit I saw businesses who were trying to do Google and Facebook advertising on their own, not realizing they were spending more money than they would have if they had outsourced the work. The internet is changing constantly. It is impossible for a business owner to keep up and stay competitive in the space. Practices they learned a few years ago and are still implementing have become outdated, causing them to fall behind in rankings, pay a higher cost per click if advertising on search engines, and show up outside their ideal audience on social media.

As I thought more about it I thought of all the professionals that are experienced but are providing services on the lower end of the cost spectrum in order to establish thier business. You could be missing out on getting the same level of expertise and have less of a cost by getting in early. Most consultants offer a no obligation interview which you could use to assess both and see which one you are most comfortable with. I am extremely experienced in my industry, but there are times when I am the less expensive option simply because I don’t throw in things that my clients don’t need that the competitor charges for.

I think the home page should be more headlines and bullet points about what you do as people won’t read paragraphs of information just to find out what it is that you do. It is a very short page as well. Are you doing the website yourself? The home page should be a short summary of the entire website. I save what you have for a page like “Why Choose Dr. Dorothy” and have information and pictures on the home page about the benefits your services provide, not the process or the cause of the issues.

I have quantified what my time is worth in dollars so I know what it is worth. Businesses deal with people they trust. Stopping by from time to time tells a business not only that I am local to the area, but also that I’m not going to skip out on them once a sale is made. It cements the impression that I will be here when they need me even after the sale is done. Helping with little things like advice on whatever digital marketing they are already doing helps as well, but really it’s all about my time. I know that it is valuable, but a few hours checking in with prospects throughout the year or helping them out not expecting anything in return can lead to sales down the road. ...And if it doesn’t at least I’ve helped out!

Google Ads get you to the top of the search results so people can find you when they are looking for your specific product or service. Facebook ads pick up on search activity, demographics, interests and other things that tell the internet about yourself so they are able to show ads relevant to a customer’s intentions as well as retarget those who have visited your website. We’re all so busy nowadays that we often needs reminded of things we needed to check out or wanted to buy so we can go back and complete the task.

My company is a Google Preferred Partner so we often do seminars with representatives from Google. (The real ones, not the ones that robo call businesses on the phone and misrepresent themselves as Google, lol) What they have seen through thier analytics is that people aren’t as loyal as they used to be. It used to be that if you needed someone to come check out your furnace you might ask friends or family if they knew anyone, now use Google to find businesses and reviews have replaced referrals. Even if they are looking for someone specifically they can get easily sidetracked by competitors when they go to look up a business, and that business has no idea that they lost a referral because they weren’t easy to find. What I see the most effective for my clients is getting to the top of the search engines, either through ads or effective websites then retargeting visitors with Facebook ads as a gentle reminder that the business is out there. We are so busy these days that we are often interrupted when we try to complete a task which makes the retargeting really effective. It’s amazing how much Facebook knows about us, which makes thier targeting features so effective even if someone hasn’t visited the website.

Even if someone gets a referral for your business they will likely check out your website so it is important that it reflects the image you want your company to portray. After getting the website set up it's time to start soliciting reviews online. These are so much more important than testimonials! You have to make it easy for the client. For example my company has a review product that comes with business cards that feature a unique URL and QR code so the client can easily leave a review. As long as it is 4 or 5 stars the client is then invited to leave reviews on your Google, Facebook and Yelp pages. The more reviews you have the more respected your company and online image appears. I have had clients who incentivized the reviews process by having a drawing each month for a gift certificate and you entered the drawing by simply creating an honest review, sharing a facebook post or liking the company's facebook page. It was a great and fast way to get the reviews up and the name out there. Once that is established facebook ads are a great addition to any marketing strategy. Only a few of those who have liked your page will see your post, but facebook ads can show to all kinds of targeted audience and the cost is much less than something like pay per click marketing
