About Us
Most marketing is invasive and awful and companies waste a ton of time and money on it. Most marketing is a checklist of "stuff" and doesn't connect with the audience. We do it differently and we do it much better. We un-level the playing field and attract an unfair amount of attention to our clients' brands. May the Best Brand Win!
How We Got Started

"I've known Mike for many years. He is funny, creative and super talented. Put those together and he has a way to reach audiences and entertain them while they are choking down the "marketing" message. Hey, it worked for Mary Poppins! Give him a call -- Mike is an asset you need working for your business. "

That's a pretty big deal. Not good. Super important to have marketing messages really dialed in right now.

It's clean but it's all about you. Where is the customer in this story -- what problem are you solving for them. Start with a clear message about what this site is instead of a bullet point about your business -- Show me a problem (which opens a story loop) Show me images of people getting that problem solved and then show me what their lives look like AFTER they've worked with you. Too much focus on YOU, nothing on THEM and here's a bit of honesty for you -- People want to be the HERO of their stories and nobody cares about you or your business UNLESS you position yourself as a GUIDE helping the hero of the story win. Your site is clean and pretty, but the words are wrong.
My podcast and blog have generated the most leads for my own business. But I use various platforms to amplify that content so they all play a role.

Great question -- first thing and it MUST come first -- Story. The Avg person spends about 30 percent of their time daydreaming (90 percent on Zoom calls :) ) but storytelling STOPS the brain from doing that and gets the attention you need to be clear—and be valuable to your customers. As a...

Great question -- first thing and it MUST come first -- Story. The Avg person spends about 30 percent of their time daydreaming (90 percent on Zoom calls :) ) but storytelling STOPS the brain from doing that and gets the attention you need to be clear—and be valuable to your customers. As a Certified StoryBrand Guide, I help businesses of all sizes clarify their message so customers will listen and that is the foundation of any rebranding effort. The order of operations typically goes -- Message, then Design, then Execution for a branding effort. DO NOT do it in the wrong order (I'm talking to you designers out there) Without the right message, the design will not be worth much.
Well, there is a great Veterans' charity called Patriotic Hearts and we recently helped them with their message and marketing. They do such important work for our Veterans and their families. https://patriotichearts.org/

Well, the best way to market anything in 2020 is to know the customer you want to reach, what problem you solve for them and state that clearly in your communications. Messaging is ALWAYS first in marketing. It cannot be skipped nor can you just "come back to it." Start with your message -- build out from there. Bad marketing comes from building a house with no foundation. I can help you in a cost-effective way if you want.
I’d start with word of mouth in your area and close by. Get your new customers talking about them and referring others to you. Then amplify those stories via social media (Youtube vids) and of course use your site to house most of that content. And move quickly. Don’t forget PR. Invite reporters...

Generally, 10 percent of revenue is a good benchmark, but it depends on a few factors. Before you do anything or spend ANY money, get your message CLEAR. If the message isn't right, nothing will be—even if you have Mike Bloomberg's giant budget. :)
