I need a photo for LinkedIn. Do I need to have a professional do it, or is it ok to just use my own camera?

I have used both.  Currently the one I use is from a professional sitting but if the photo you take with your camera it has a professional look and you like it, I would use it. Some people lean toward only photos from professional photographers.  I'm not one of them.

I would always recommend having a Professional Headshot; I do Headshots by the way...if anyone ever needs one in the DFW area.

I would think a good quality pixel camera would do.  Sometimes professional looks too formal.

I would recommend a professional photo because this a business site and you would want to have a professional image on Linkedin.

I had my neighbor take my photo outside on her lawn, and quite frankly, it turned out better than any professional photos I have ever had done.  I suppose it depends on how well it turns out!

I'm not sure how important the photo actually is, but my sense is that a self-taken head shot would be more effective than the kind of distant shot you have here.

NO, just take your own photo. That's what I did.

You can just use your own camera

Good Question, Potential clients will be looking at your profile. I normally put a company logo in the picture spot but my wife and had professional portraits done so I decided to put that one up on here

If you have a good picture put it up I just do not suggest putting up candid pictures and remember people that might want to hire you will be looking at your picture first
