Is there a "go-to" resource, magazine or website that restaurant owners use to buy equipment, and get advice?

I am looking for a place to advertise my services that reaches my target mom and pop restaurant owners. What directory, magazine or website is popular with you guys that you would recommend has a wide reach?

Have you done the research to ensure you know the best 'delivery system' to get your compelling case to your ideal prospects?

Sounds like you are guessing what media to use.

That's actually backwards- and wastes a lot of money. It's costly to advertise to everyone nowadays, hoping you get prospects to talk to you.

And, even if there was a 'go-to' resource all your competitors are using, does that mean you want to swim in the same swamp as all your competitors?? Wouldn't you rather have a prospect's undivided attention?

Better to identify exactly who you want to sell to, exactly what you need to communicate to them, and then research the best way to get their attention with a compelling message.

Could it be a postcard driving them to your website? Maybe, research will tell you.
Could it be a magazine ad asking for a direct response? Maybe, research will tell you.
Could it be testimonial note on top of a letter recommending you? Maybe, research will tell you.
Could it be SEO improvements? Maybe, research will tell you.

I could go on for 100 solutions, but because I do not have any research, that would be guessing. Just as anyone here who recommends a media, without research, is guessing.

Generic answers get generic results- if any. It's in the research. Here is a testimonial about a guy with a business that wasn't seeing high enough conversions. I recommended one change. Here's what he said:

After Mark consulted with me on risk reversal, I changed my offer completely, adding a 110% guarantee. I was doubtful this would work, but Mark assured me it deserved testing.

This one little change almost doubled the conversion from 2.1% to 4.05%. For the size of my business, it is a 5 figure increase. Thank you, Mark !

How did we do one little thing and get these results?

Research!

Mark

My first thought would be to create a group and invite owners- something like Lehigh Valley Restaurant Owners- that way you control the content and can post your information and it's free.

Locally there is not really a good restaurant source. Most of the clients I work go directly to Restaurant Depot, Sysco, The Restaurant Store and have personal salesmen/women that come into their locations. A lot of flyers are received also. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

I think Alignable by itself does a great job as evident by the many responses that you have already received.  It all comes down to the way that you word the questions as that drives who will most likely respond.  I love Alignable as so many people from different walks of life throw in great ideas.  Each time that I ask a questions, I get all kinds of ideas that really get my creative juices flowing.  Keep searching!!!!

Technology these days allow you to target restaurant owners and decision makers specifically through targeted display ads, targeted email, linkedin advertsing, etc. Working with a marketing company that has the capability to target your ideal customers is 'waste not adverting'. The top way to not waste ad spend is to provide a cohesive user journey through consistent messaging and images between your ads and your ideal customer. Shoot me a message if you want to chat and pick my brain some more about this!

Google: "Go-to resource for restaurant equipment" You could also add the words "near me" or a city or county location so that the SERPs are most relevant to you.

We don't use advertising in magazines or anything like that. I am the marketer for the Texas Roadhouse in Brooklyn and each individual store has one of us in place. We just do a lot of community involvement and help fundraise with local non-profit organizations, schools, and churches. We also strive for different types of business partnerships as well.
