How do get your clients to leave a review?

Whenever a client picks up their item/s, we most often get a great response with a promise or offer they will a review for us. Time goes by and still no review. I will send a short email stating we truly appreciate their business and that we know life gets busy & time is short but if they would please leave us a review, good or bad. I offer them the link to go straight to a few different platforms, so they can choose to leave a review in the location most familiar to them.
What else could would do to get some reviews?

Getting reviews requires getting the client to relive the thing they love most about your service.  If they like what they received from you but don't really 'love' anything in particular, they will never take the time to write a review.

When they come to pick up their items, before they check out and leave, ask them what about your service they really loved.  When they tell you, say that most of your business comes from people who are looking for that and you would be greatful if they would put that in their review for others to see.  Now they have a reason to write the review.

People get busy. And many of them won't do it if it's not easy.  It's best if you offer them the specific links that go straight to the review site, (give them the option of Yelp, Google or Facebook) with detailed instructions (will they have to log in?  What if they don't have an account?) and follow up.

We follow up just once if they don't leave a review, and ask them to fill out a customer satisfaction survey as an alternative.   Then we have testimonials we can copy on our site or our brochures, even if it's not a review in Yelp or Google or Facebook.

Screen, screen, screen your clients. Tell them up front that your contract requires an honest evaluation of your services at the completion of the contract.  Exceed your client's expectations and you will get reviews almost effortlessly.

Depending on the platform, Friend them on Facebook, Instagram or whatever platform and mention the work you did for them and they will comment or like either way you have a response from them and you also have a relationship with them for future business.

At the end of my novels, I publish my website link and offer this incentive: "If you enjoyed this book, please leave a comment online. Even if it's just a sentence or two, you will accomplish two things: encourage other readers to buy the book and encourage the author to keep on writing."

What is your business about? I just helped a company generate 5 testimonials from their clients. The survey was short, 10 questions, and we offered a link-back to their companies along with their testimonials on my client's website, as well as a mention about them on social media platforms. No gifts or discounts were accorded. Just a sincere gratification with the intention of helping their businesses in return for their kind words and time. 😊
