Realtors, what type of closing gifts do you normally do?

I own Cole & Bennett Modern Gift Baskets and we're launching card services, a new line of realtor closing, list and mini referral thank you gifts.  Wondering what you are doing now and if you feel its effective.

Closing gifts! I like to do something special for them accordingly to their need and personalities. From home protection plan, restaurant certificate, dinner delivery for a fun family time and to enjoy the backyard, spa or something for the house ...

Personally I try to personalize it to my client.

one client loved birds bought her  new bird bath for her new home.

Recently had client big KU fan bought him a KU yard sign.

It’s all about knowing your clients!

Depends on the client.  I love giving gift certificates to local restaurant for clients that are new to the area.  Seller I will give some sort of memory keepsake.

It depends on the client and the house. Bottle of champagne, Home Depot gift cards, I’ve also ordered personalized decor. Nothing big. Just a sign for some newlywed first time buyers.

It depends on the client and their needs, sometimes it is a gift certificate, bottle of champagne, if it is for a listing than usually a gift of another service or incentive when their property sells.

I usually give a framed relief map of the area their new property is located and a basket of candles/goodies

I Instruct now but I found differentials to be the best...such as providing a complete pressure wash before the first open house.  Tell 5 to the left 5 to the right and 10 across the street.. discounted PW this week.  I place a supreme level Warranty at my expense.  Peace of mind and the Buyer usage sends me a notice...converts Buyers to referrals It is a more valuable gift write off and word of mouth cant be beat..total investment $550 warranty and $175 PW  beat mailings at #600+ to the trash in 11 seconds.  Another permanent gift Cutlery with logo and name and number engraved.  stays in the kitchen!

I'm 34 years selling Real Estate in Dutchess County, NY. At first, I gave a gift that was customized, for the house I was selling: A framed Art Work, for the Entry or a certain room in the house. OR a bottle of wine. Over The Years, As I became more successful, I took my Buyers or Sellers out to Lunch or Dinner, after the closing. Plus a Gift Certificate or Bottle of Champagne. Depending on whether they bought a local house, or were moving out of the area! If they didn't drink, they got a Gift Card, to a Restaurant or Home Depot or Lowes.

I have also made  Gift Baskets (I make them for fundraising, throughout the year.) for "Special Clients/Customers", who I became particularly close to. Depending on the client, it could be a Wine/Chocolate Basket, Entertainment Basket (Food, with or without wine or Sparkling Cider) or any theme of basket that was customized to the buyer/seller.

If a buyer or seller was particularly "Impossible" during the transaction, I didn't give a gift. Just wished them well, and hoped not to hear from them, ever again!

Certain times The gift is specific to clients character like a lawn sign or sign for a garage or man or woman cave. One co.bo that people appreciate is a card for a decore store like Kirklands and one for a place like one I use being Total Wine. That wY they can enjoy picking out things theu enjoy for the home and when they celebrate the move. Important to get somethi g they will use and not end up in a closet.
