Realtors, what type of closing gifts do you normally do?
I own Cole & Bennett Modern Gift Baskets and we're launching card services, a new line of realtor closing, list and mini referral thank you gifts. Wondering what you are doing now and if you feel its effective.

Closing gifts in my view are highly dependent on the client and how well you know them. And the gift as well should be I believe in line with the amount of the Amount of the sale.
You wouldn’t give a $170 bottle of scotch to a 125k condo sale etc.
neither would you give alcohol to someone that doesn’t drink.
A gift card to a restaurant or for a one time maid or lawn service from a trusted provider has worked well for me. And so has the scotch.
I like to give a coffee table book that fits the client. My last clients moved into a mid-century modern home so my gift was an art book on mid-century modern design and I wrote a nice message inside. The book isn't branded, so not salesy, and is something they keep out. The best part is that guests will look through the book and after reading my inscribed message on the inside know that it was a meaningful gift from their Realtor. Depending on the book I choose I spend somewhere between $30-$60.

Prepackaged gifts suck. I use a personal touch with locally produced products. If a client is a PITA...I don't give 'em squat
I give my buyers a lovely Good Luck in your New Home card with a $100.00 Visa or American Express Gift Card to select something they really need & to remember me every time they look at it.
