Realtors, what type of closing gifts do you normally do?

For my buyers at closing I make a basket with all types of cleaning supplies or a basket with fruits, nuts, chips and candy, if they have kids.  It just depend, one of my buyers really enjoyed the basket with the food and it came in handy because their kitchen things had not yet arrived. For me sellers, I give a gift card for Home Depot but I like the idea of throwing a party for the neighbors to create a photo memorabilia to give as a gift. 

Closing gifts are so important.  I try to cater the gift to the client and their family's needs.  Thru the process of working with a client, I usually get to know them very well. A closing gift is a kind gesture. It gives me the opportunity to thank them for allowing me to serve them by providing the best service and a positive experience. 

I like to fit the gift to the client.  I use Cutco knives since they have my info engraved on them.  One client was good about spreading the word about me, so I gave her a Cutco Spreader/knife which was engraved with "Thank you for spreading the word."  Another was a good cook and got the large knife.   I never realized how exciting people get about the knives until the husband called and let me know his wife was so excited about it.  

For a client that was leaving for Italy, I gave them an Italian themed basket.   

It all depends on the client, some like gifts and some don't. I usually talk to them and see what their situation is and then go from there. Some needed help more then a gift. I have had them return my gift and give me one instead for helping them with their needs. 

I have seen agents leave a bottle of Champagne with personalized Champagne glasses for the new homeowner but what really has left an impression.... at least on me is when the agent personalizes a gift bag for the children. They find out the interests of the children involved and leave a personalized gift bag for each child welcoming them to their new home. 

Closing gifts depend on the client.  I have given Home Depot or other gift cards, a bucket filled with cleaning supplies, fruit basket, gift basket with cutting board and selection of cheeses and other goodies, restaurant gift cards, etc. I try to get an idea of what the client may need or would like and make the decision based on what I learn

I would love to use your services! I currently give wine, gift baskets, etc. & it would be convenient for me to use.

I like a dinner gift card, so during the "move", they actually get a night out.....

I’ve really enjoyed giving the Ring Door Bell 2 to my clients. It’s an upgrade to their home, a safety item and fun as well. In gated communities I change it up as needed from what I’ve learned about my now friends.
