I am looking for better ways to find and ask for referrals. Any recommendations?
I am looking for better ways to find and ask for referrals. I can only work with business owners.
Looking to build from both from my current clients, and from other business owners that work with businesses, like me.

Incentives are always nice. Not sure if your business is one that is allowed to incentivize, but if you are, that is one suggestion. What are your techniques for showing appreciation to current clients for their business? Stepping that up a little will put you more top of mind and make them more open to referring others to you.
Finally, I highly recommend meeting new business owners and networking with them locally. Knowing you as the real deal will also bring you top of mind when services such as yours are needed.
the best way to get referrals it to give referrals or ideas that help businessman get more clients
Creating a relationship is the first step in getting referrals. Asking for a referral prematurely is like asking the opposite sex to marry you at the initial meeting. People do business with and refer others to those they Know, Like and Trust. In conclusion, be Visible, establish Credibility and be known as a "referral giver", not the "referral asker". The referrals will come naturally.
If you have a customer that is very pleased and makes complimentary comments, that is the time to ask for a testimonial letter or a referral. Video testimonials by happy customers are priceless! :-)
You can also ask for permission to use their quotes on a form you print:
WHAT MY CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING
List the quotes and first name of the customer unless they give you permission to use their full name and company name.
Storm, this is a great question! I would begin with your best clients, asking them for a referral to someone they know that could use your services; asking them for an introduction. Ask for written references from your current clients that can be posted on your website.
Yelp or Google referrals post are always helpful for those who may be looking for your type of business. Providing an incentive to the company for the referral can help get this accomplished.
In today's environment business owners are very savvy in researching new relationships. Also is your website up to date, is it mobile friendly? Is your LinkedIn profile and business profile up to date? Make sure you business is well positioned in the internet world.
Good Luck! MB

Storm--sounds simplistic but we just have to ask and then ask again and then tell them AGAIN that we asked for referrals. They re not normally on the high priority list for most executives. It's a pain but it works.
We have been using ReviewBuzz since 2016 at a Lennox Dealers' meeting. They have helped with reviews that clients can do themselves. The company sent us generic ReviewBuzz cards, and this year, we did something different. We added our portraits to the cards for a really good price. Now our new clients can see who is coming before we get there! By posting through their email address, they can see who is coming and read our reviews, it saves us and the clients time.
First give some. Second earn referrals.
